“Hard work and the best course I've done. The scenarios on the last day pulled everything together.”

Spot and manage problems, run real rescue scenarios, and gain a full first-aid component
Become a calmer, more capable diver with the Rescue Diver Course & First Aid at Odysseic Divers. Learn to spot and prevent problems, manage diving emergencies, and look after your buddy and yourself. The included first-aid component covers CPR, oxygen, and emergency response — skills that matter in and out of the water. Often the most rewarding course a diver ever takes.
Ask experienced divers about their favourite course and many will say it was Rescue. It’s challenging, genuinely useful, and the moment a lot of people stop thinking of themselves as ‘just a diver’ and start feeling like a confident, switched-on dive buddy.
At Odysseic Divers we believe a great diver isn’t only comfortable underwater — they’re ready to help when something goes wrong. This course teaches you to prevent problems before they happen, recognise stress in yourself and others, and respond calmly and effectively when it counts.
You’ll cover the theory, practise skills in shallow water, then put it all together in realistic open-water rescue scenarios.
The course includes a complete emergency first-response component — skills that are just as valuable on land as they are at sea:
You’ll need an Open Water Diver certification (or equivalent) and a minimum of four logged dives. A current first-aid certificate is recommended, but if you don’t have one, the included training covers it.
Learn to prevent problems, manage emergencies, and become the diver everyone wants in their group. Train with Odysseic Divers in the Gili Islands.
Primary and secondary assessment, CPR and AED. Emergency oxygen administration.
Theory: stress, prevention and emergency management. Self-rescue and assisting tired divers in shallow water.
Panicked and unresponsive diver skills in open water.
Full rescue scenarios from start to finish, then certification.

Four days and five dives. Day one is first aid, and the last day is full rescue scenarios from start to finish.

“The first-aid day alone was worth it. I'm a calmer buddy now and I spot problems much earlier.”
